The store is the room most members ask about and fewest have seen. It holds about 9,000 objects in 60 square metres, and Lionel Brack will take you round in groups of eight so nobody knocks anything over.
Back in the Hemp Store, we will show the 23 objects that joined the collection this year, from a set of dairy churn tags to a letter written on the back of a ropewalk invoice. The people who gave some of them will be there to tell you why.
This is the last of our four members’ evenings this year. There are 40 places, so please book. The store is reached by 6 steps; if you can’t manage them, tell us when you book and we will bring a selection out to you.

Hands On: Six Objects from the Store
Handle six objects that are usually in the store, with gloves and a volunteer who knows their stories. Ten places only.
