Only about 640 of our 9,800 objects are on display at any time. Once a month we bring six of the others out to the reading-room table and let you pick them up.
This month’s six include a butter churn paddle, a ropewalk wage token, a brass inkwell from Tarrow Bridge School and a tin of Brisco’s throat lozenges that is still, faintly, minty. A volunteer from the collections team will tell you what we know about each one and what we don’t.
We provide gloves and a magnifier. The Counting House has one 12 cm step at the door and we will have the ramp out for this session. Children over 8 are welcome with an adult.
